Gratitude Stones
"The Original Gratitude Stone"
HOW THE ARTIST SAYS IT ALL BEGAN.......
When my husband and I first watched the DVD, "The Secret," we realized that true success in life comes from an attitude of gratitude. This was a core life lesson that we've always practiced and it's made a HUGE difference in our lives.
But we learned something new from "The Secret" about carrying a Gratitude Stone. It's basically a small pebble or rock that one carries in their pocket and everytime you touch it--look at it--rub it--it reminds you to be GRATEFUL for your life and all the blessings you have.
So I began making Gratitude Stones for all my family and friends, and boy, were they a hit!
Each Gratitude Rock takes nearly 3 days to complete. I take a glass stone and place a fine layer of aurora borealis glitter along the edges--then I place a small picture, usually a work of art--such as a painting, a sculpture, a picture--over that.
I then place another small print facing outwards to cover the initial picture. When all those layers are dry, I coat the Gratitude Rock with several layers of Gloss to water-proof the Stone. As you see, it's quite labor-intensive, but the results are gorgeous!
Each Rock is then blessed by an ordained minister (non-denominational) and sent with a Gratitude Poem.
